Goal are reporting that Nabil Bentaleb (28) is set to remain at SCO Angers until the end of the season despite offers from Besiktas and Hellas Verona.

Bentaleb, who also attracted interest from Lille OSC this winter, had offers from Turkey and from Italy, but ultimately turned them down. The Algerian midfielder will therefore stay with the club until the end of the season, having joined just over 12 months ago.

The 28-year-old has made 16 appearances this season for Ligue 1’s bottom boys, who recently fell to a record-equalling 12th straight defeat to Brest, and has scored twice and registered two assists so far. Overall, he has featured 36 times for Le SCO, having quickly become one of the team’s regulars on arriving.

The midfielder had previously spent five years at Schalke, punctuated by a loan spell at Newcastle in 2020, where he made just over a century of appearances, having previously been a regular with the North London outfit, where he had finished his youth development.
