L’Équipe are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko (19) as an alternative to Rayan Cherki (19) and Malcom (25).
Olympique Lyonnais have taken a vocal and strong stance that Cherki, who came through the club’s academy, will not leave to join Les Parisiens this month. Malcom’s potential move from Zenit Saint-Petersburg is also proving complicated. The Russian club are willing to accept either a transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy, but PSG want to loan the player without the mandatory option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
As a result of the complications in these two deals, PSG are exploring a third option. According to L’Équipe, PSG’s sporting consultant Luis Campos is working discretely on a deal for young Belgian winger Bakayoko, who currently competes in the Eredivisie with PSV.
The Belgian youth international has featured 14 times for the Dutch side this season, scoring three goals and registering one assist in that time.
