PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas added to Costa Rica World Cup squad

Despite not being given too many chances at Paris Saint-Germain in the presence of former Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnaruma, Keylor Navas has managed to make the World Cup squad for Costa Rica.

On Thursday, Costa Rica head coach Luis Fernando Suárez announced his 26-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Five goalkeepers made the cut, with PSG custodian Navas being one of them.

The 35-year-old was close to moving away from the French capital in the summer transfer window of 2022. But with PSG failing to find a potential suitor under suitable circumstances, the experienced campaigner had to stay put with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

La Sele will have some formidable company this year, with Germany, Spain, and Japan making Group E one of the toughest groups in the respective competition. They kick off their World Cup campaign with an opener against Spain on November 23.
