Despite trusting Peter Bosz with all his resources, Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted giving the coach’s potential dismissal a thought. But he also understands that it would not be the right decision.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Aulas clarified that he would continue to back Bosz despite multiple rumours indicating that he might be lining up a replacement for the former Ajax boss. As quoted by L’Équipe, the OL chief said:
“We will be careful. Of course, there may be fear, but we will get there, and it is not the coach who is responsible. Reviews on social media? Of course, it annoys me but I think those who say I’m overwhelmed are more annoyed than me. That’s the advantage when you have 35 years of experience and 60 titles on the clock. That said, if I had to change positions with Vincent (OL football director) and Bruno (head of the recruitment unit), I would do it, but today I am convinced that it is not the right solution to change.”
Since the start of the season, Lyon have lost three games and drawn one. As a result of the poor run, they are currently sixth on the points table with 13 points from eight games. Moreover, Bosz’s men have lost each of their last three games, jeopardising the manager’s job at the club.
