In the CCTV videos from nearby buildings, the boy can be seen leaning on a car parked on the side of a busy road.
Shihshad, who walks to the boy, can be seen asking him something and, without any provocation, kicks him on the back.
The boy, who looks visibly shocked, then walked away silently.
CCTV visuals also showed some passersby confronting Shihshad, who then defends his brutal act saying that the boy was leaning on his car for a long time.

According to reports, the boy belongs to a migrant family from Rajasthan who sells balloons on the street to make a living.
The injured boy is currently under treatment in a nearby hospital.
Police initially let the accused go
The local police have also come under fire for their initial inaction in the case.
Based on some locals’ complaints, the police had identified the accused from the CCTV visuals on Thursday night itself.
However, Shihshad was allegedly let go by the police, who only took his car into custody.
On Friday morning, after the video went viral, Police swung into action and arrested Shihshad, who has now been booked under attempt to murder.
No lapses from police: ASP
Thalassery ASP Nidhin Raj, who conducted a detailed probe, rejected the charges and said the man was taken into custody soon after identifying him.
Claiming that there was no delay in action in the case, he said the issues, being faced by the migrant worker community, is seen with much seriousness by the police.
“In this case, we traced the number of the car first and thus identified the person, involved in the incident. After confirmation, we immediately took him into custody and recorded his arrest later,” he told reporters here.
The case was registered based on the complaint of the boy’s mother and sections including IPC 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) were imposed against the accused, he said.
Brutality widely condemned
The shocking act of Shihshad towards the boy has been widely condemned in Kerala including by Kerala Minister for Health and Family Welfare Veena George who termed it shocking and highly deplorable.
