Swampscott Fish House Gets Boost From Bent Water On The Beach Bash

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A beach bash for a worthy beneficiary is coming back to Fisherman’s Beach this weekend as the Lynn-based Bent Water Brewing Company is hosting the Bent Water on the Beach event to raise money for the Swampscott Fish House.

The event will run from 2 to 9 p.m. with grilling, live music, fun and a selection of Bent Water brews.

A portion of all ticket sales goes toward the Fish House, which was built in 1896 and remains in operation on Blaney Beach adjacent to Fisherman’s Beach.

“We’re so proud to continue our support of the Swampscott Fish House,” Aaron Reames, co-founder and president of Bent Water Brewing, told Patch. “It’s the oldest still-working fish house in the entire country, which is a pretty amazing piece of history tied so close to our roots here on the North Shore.”

The Fish House operates to connect fishermen and women with each other by providing a space to store their fishing gear, trade supplies and share stories.

“Between the Bent Water on the Beach event and personal donations from members of our team over the years, we’ve helped raise thousands of dollars towards preserving the Fish House both as a landmark and as an active storage facility for local fishermen,” Reames said.

This year’s event features music by Big Ol’ Dirty Bucket, DJ Double You, and Big Flows & Stacking Stones Band, and food available through the Swampscott Yacht Club.

There is a $7 admission charge to the food and music area or a $25 admission that includes entry and two drink tickets.

Tickets can be purchased the day of the event or in advance here.
