ENFIELD, CT — A convicted felon wanted by Enfield police on a warrant stemming from a firearms violation over the summer was picked up by detectives in Boston Thursday and extradited to Connecticut.
Lorenzo Beechman, 36, of Hyde Park, Mass., was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and illegally altering firearm identifications. He was held in lieu of a court-set $1 million bond, and was slated to be arraigned Friday in Hartford Superior Court.
A warrant for Beechman’s arrest was obtained by Enfield police after a late June incident in which a housekeeper at the Red Roof Inn on Hazard Avenue discovered a loaded firearm in a room Beechman had rented. His possession of the weapon was illegal due to his extensive criminal history dating back to 2008, mainly involving firearms, Police Chief Alaric Fox said.
