ENFIELD, CT — A family of eight was displaced from its home on Lincoln Street Saturday night following a fire in a house nearly 125 years old.
The fire at 57 Lincoln Street was reported around 7:40 p.m., and was contained to one bedroom on the first floor, with smoke damage to the rest of the house, Thompsonville Fire Chief David Deskis said.
One occupant of the house, built around 1900 according to Enfield land records, suffered a minor burn to a hand, but refused medical treatment, Deskis said.

According to the American Red Cross, the displaced family consisted of five adults and three children. They were relocated due to the home being inhabitable from the fire, Deskis said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but does not appear to be of foul play, the chief added.
