PISCATAWAY, NJ — Last week, Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler met President Joe Biden at the United States Conference of Mayors, held Jan. 19 in Washington, D.C.
Wahler, a Democrat, said he was “thrilled” to meet with President Biden. He also met and spoke with U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen at the conference.

“The Biden administration understands governing, prioritizes solutions and most importantly, values the rule of law and democracy,” said Wahler. “What a relief after the disastrous circus of the Trump presidency to have true leaders back in the executive branch under the extraordinary leadership of President Biden.”

At the conference, Biden spoke about making infrastructure improvements, prescription drug cost reductions and the importance of local government in the functioning of American life.
U.S. Senator from New Jersey Cory Booker and Congressman Josh Gottheimer, both Democrats, were also there.

“Policies, not politics. Partnerships, not pettiness. And most of all, principled. President Joe Biden has brought dignity back to the White House and I am grateful and enthused to have been among many of his admirers to witness his devotion to public service in person today,” said Mayor Wahler.
