Concord Cops Accuse Man Of Possessing Knife, Stalking Neighbor: Log

CONCORD, NH — David Leidy, 58, of Bradley Street in Concord was arrested at 4:53 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2024, on a stalking charge. Police were sent to Walker Street for a report of a DVO violation. A man reported he was walking his dogs when Leidy “followed him to his house,” an affidavit stated. The man accused Leidy of having “a knife in his back pocket.” The complainant then went back to his house. The man stated he took out a protection order against Leidy first with a 300 feet requirement and then, it was amended to a 50 feet order. The complainant retraced his steps and streets explaining where he was walking the dogs and where the alleged encounter occurred. He also accused Leidy of recording him with his cellphone — so he began recording him and taking pictures, too. The man presented the cellphone photos and the officer confirmed in the report there was a “large object” tucked into Leidy’s waistband, according to the pictures. The officer also eyed the order, which stated “all deadly weapons” would need to be relinquished by Leidy, the report said. A second officer arrived and they went to speak with Leidy, who was cutting wood with an ax and “did not acknowledge” the officers, an affidavit said. “David then put the ax down and took a few steps back,” the officer wrote. “David told us not to go onto his property.” The second officer said they were investigating a complaint and requested Leidy not reach for the ax, the report said. Leidy was accused of calling his neighbor a bad person who had “weaponized” the police against him. When asked if he had a knife, Leidy reached to his back, pulled a large leather sheath and knife, and placed them on the ground, the affidavit stated. Leidy was then arrested. The report stated the officer reviewed the Bradley Street sidewalks and the area of the complaint and found them to be about 36 feet apart, confirming the order violation.
