Woman Tries To Kidnap Boy From Target Store: LAPD

LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman snatched a 4-year-old boy Sunday from inside Koreatown Target store, putting him down outside after the boy’s parent stopped her, according to police.

Now detectives are asking for help identifying the woman, who is wanted on suspicion of attempted kidnapping.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the attempted kidnapping happened at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday at the Target at 620 Sout Virgil Avenue.

“Suspect (stranger) forcefully grabbed 4-year-old victim from behind without content and carried him outside of the store,” the LAPD announced in a bulletin.

After putting the child down, the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a woman in her early 40s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a brown jacket, black shirt, blue jeans and black-and-white shoes, police said.

Anyone with information on the name or whereabouts of the suspect was asked to call LAPD at 213-382-9437 or make an anonymous tip at 800-222-8477.
