Man With Gun Nabbed After Foot Chase Through Chicago Ridge Mall: Cops

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL — An 18-year-old man who reportedly pointed a gun at another man was nabbed after a foot chase through the Chicago Ridge Mall, police said. Cesar Cortez Rosales, of Chicago, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Chicago Ridge police received a call about a man displaying a gun at 87th Street and Southwest Highway. The caller reported that he had been approached by a man wearing a black ski mask who pointed a gun at him. The man and three other people fled in a vehicle south on Southwest Highway toward the mall.

When police arrived at Chicago Ridge Mall, they learned the four had entered the Buffalo Wild Wings entrance. Officers found the suspects inside and called for backup. As officers were speaking to the group they began patting them down. The man wearing the ski mask, later identified as Cortez Rosales, took off running through the mall, police said.
