PLAINFIELD, IL — A tractor-trailer leaked diesel fuel onto Route 30 Thursday morning, resulting in the roadway’s temporary closure, officials said.
Plainfield police and fire personnel responded at 6:11 a.m. to the oil spill in the area around Route 30 and Renwick Road, Commander Anthony Novak told Patch. The Plainfield Fire Protection District is the primary agency handling the incident.
Eastbound Route 30 between Renwick Road and Lily Cache Road is currently shut down to traffic. Members of the Plainfield Emergency Management Agency are assisting with the road closure while the westbound lane remains open.

As of 9:30 a.m., Novak said the road is expected to remain closed for another 1.5-2 hours while a clean-up company mitigates the issue.
