France Bleu report that Danish international forward Kasper Dolberg has engaged in a legal proceeding after his €70,000 watch was stolen from the OGC Nice dressing room on Monday.
Dolberg has filed a complaint with the Nice prosecutors office as an investigation into who stole the watch continues.
Every OGC Nice player has access to a small safe in the dressing room, which most typically don’t use. A select number of people have access to all the safes using a specific badge.
The prosecutor’s office has confirmed to local outlets that they have opened their own investigation and that interviews with possible suspects will be conducted in the coming days.
Dolberg missed training on Tuesday, apparently owing to stomach aches, but is expected to start tonight in Ligue 1 against Dijon.
When asked about the situation in a press conference yesterday, manager Patrick Vieira had the following to say:
“It is something that we will sort out internally. These things sadly happen. Don’t worry, the atmosphere in the squad remains very good.”
Dolberg has had a somewhat tempestuous start to life with Les Aiglons, joining as their record signing for around €20m in the final week of the summer transfer window. He notably had a rather public series of on-pitch disagreements with fellow new signing Adam Ounas last weekend during a match with Montpellier.
