OGN Nice has today completed its second signing of the summer with Christophe Hérelle joining the Ligue 1 side until 2019. Hérelle, a left-sided centre-back, joins from Troyes AC after two years with the club. The French defender experienced both highs and lows in Troyes, helping the team earn promotion to Ligue 1 in 2017 just to finish 19th the season after.
Soon to turn 26-years old, Hérelle still does not have an abundance of top level experience. The centre-back has only made 34 appearances in Ligue 1, with all of them coming this past season for Troyes. Despite this, Hérelle proved to be comfortable in first division play, displaying his qualities as a modern-day centre-back.
The Frenchman is comfortable with the ball at his feet, completing 4.4 long balls per game, and defends in a no-nonsense manner, making 6.9 defensive clearances per game per WhoScored.
A native of Nice, Hérelle is looking forward to playing in his hometown. July 2nd will be his first day of training with Les Aiglons, and the centre-back will certainly be looking to impress new manager Patrick Vieira.
