TEMECULA, CA—Portals Entertainment has opened in Temecula, providing area families with a place to step away from reality and into a realm of pure imagination.
Located at 26469 Ynez Road, Portals Entertainment is in the Palm Plaza Shopping Center, across from Promenade Temecula Mall. The all-ages center includes two themed 9-hole mini golf courses, an immersive laser tag arena, and a unique hidden portal to a 21-and-up speakeasy.
Owners Chad and Alfred Williams first developed the concept of Portals in 2022, focusing on laser tag. After years of research, they expanded the business into what it is today: an indoor entertainment center for all ages. The 13,500-square-foot entertainment center now features four unique portals, each with a separate design, leading to one of four unique attractions, making for engaging entertainment.

“We wanted to create an immersive experience for all visitors,” Alfred Williams, one of the owners of Portals Entertainment Center, told Patch.
“Our center is fully indoors, and all our attractions are powered by blacklight,” he said. “Our center also includes our concession-style cafe, Port Bytes, where visitors can order pizzas, nachos, wings, and more.” The Portals Entertainment lobby also houses arcade games and claw machines. For the grown-ups, A “speakeasy” type Portal 19 is open for those 21 and up, Friday through Sunday evenings.

“We provide options to host parties and events, such as birthday parties, team building, corporate events, and more,” he said.

The owners’ prime focus is on hosting parties as the holiday season approaches.
“Portals Entertainment Center offers special group rates for teams, end-of-season events, and team building. Local sports teams looking for a unique way to celebrate their season’s end are already finding Portals a perfect place to party,” Chad Williams said.
It all began with a dream of owning their own business, Chad Williams told Patch.
“We began the discussion of starting a business with the idea of a laundromat,” Williams said. He was 20 years into his professional career when he realized he wanted to be his own boss. Once the pair began discussing the business, it snowballed into what Portals Entertainment is today. They suffered the challenges of finding the perfect real estate, ultimately choosing Palm Plaza as their preferred location, near the Temeku Cinemas.
Walking inside, you’ll notice the sights, sounds, energy and vibrance. One mini-golf course is currently centered with a booming volcano, dinosaurs and dinosaur tracks. Another portal will take you through an undersea-style pirate adventure. Then, there are the video games, the laser tag, it’s a feast for the senses.
This is not the mini-golf you’re used to, and there is so much more.
“We wanted to create an immersive experience for all visitors, regardless of age, and allow the opportunity to step into adventure,” Alfred said. “Creating memories with loved ones is important to Chad and me, and what better way than to create an environment where both adults and children can engage their imagination and make these memories.”
Opening a business in Temecula wouldn’t be complete without giving back to the community, the pair said.
Recently, a partnership between local libraries and Portals now allows children to earn a free round of mini-golf for each completed book.
“Literacy is very important, and we feel that giving that little incentive to complete a book promotes and helps motivate our young people. We absolutely want to be a part of that,” Alfred Williams said. “Our plan is to continue to find opportunities to build partnerships with local nonprofits and organizations and bring awareness and support their causes. We already have a few organizations we are partnering with that work with our military families and foster youth.”
