According to Brian Blackden, the event organizer, this year’s theme is “Silver Bells.”

Outgoing Mayor Jim Bouley was scheduled to be the grand marshal last year. It is unknown who will be the grand marshal this year.

Blackden said fundraising this year for the parade “will just barely make it.” He said most people think the city pays for the event when it is privately funded.

Blackden said the Christmas tree lighting in Downtown Concord on Nov. 29 will also be fully funded this year. Both events, he noted, were separate nonprofit entities.
