SC Bastia are in negotiations with fellow Ligue 1 side FC Lorient about the possible immediate loan signing of former French youth international central defender Lindsay Rose, according to our colleagues at Ouest France.
The loan discussions are taking place in the form of a joker transfer, a rule in French football that allows any Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 club to sign one player from another Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 club outside of the transfer window.

The loan talks at the moment include the possibility of an option to buy. SC Bastia need to reinforce at the back with Sébastien Squillaci ruled out for the entire season with an ACL problem.
At FC Lorient, Rose is currently the fifth choice central defender behind Zargo Touré, Wesley Lautoa, Michaël Ciani and François Bellugou. This is not really an acceptable situation for the 24 year old, who had such promise at Valenciennes and has yet to be able to push on, marred very much by injuries at Lyon.
