According to Le Parisien, Italian goalkeeper and PSG player Salvatore Sirigu is currently between a move to Sevilla and the Premier League.
Sirigu’s entourage had the following to say on the Sevilla situation:
“The deal is not yet agreed with Sevilla, but we hope that the situation will be clarified in the coming days.”
A deal to Sevilla will likely be a loan without an option to buy, but the Spanish side do not want to pay the entirety of Sirigu’s wages.
The idea of going to La Liga and experiencing Champions League football with Sevilla is appealing to Sirigu, but the competition for places could be difficult and is something that he wants to avoid, especially after last season at PSG.
It is for that reason that the player’s advisors are also playing the English market. Serious contacts have been made recently with Everton and Hull City.
Both are looking for new number 1 goalkeepers.
