More details have emerged today concerning what is now a two party agreement between Newcastle United and Marseille for the transfer of Florian Thauvin and the loan of Rémy Cabella.
According to RMC, Newcastle have agreed to an €8m buy-out option in the season-long loan deal for Rémy Cabella to Marseille. As for the Florian Thauvin deal, our colleagues at Mediafoot Marseille report that the third offer that Newcastle have made this summer for the player which OM have agreed to in principle is a €17m + €3m bonuses bid.
Neither player has yet to commit to the move, with personal terms yet to be agreed. Thauvin is more willing than Cabella at the moment. This might be because Thauvin is being offered €3m a year on a 5 year contract by Newcastle. The operation is complicated, but progressing positively for all 4 parties involved.
