Spring-Ford Is Remote Friday, Jan. 19

SPRING-FORD, PA —Due to a current 48-hour boil water advisory affecting eight of the Spring-Ford buildings and snowy conditions on Friday, the Spring-Ford Area School District will move to a flexible instruction day on Friday, Jan. 19.

All district buildings will be closed. There will be no transportation provided to private or charter schools.

All classes, grades K-12, will start at 9:40 a.m. and will follow both synchronous and asynchronous activities throughout the day

After-School Activities: all after-school activities will be canceled or postponed.

Water Advisory

Pennsylvania American Water issued a boil water advisory for Royersford as of 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

This advisory will be in effect until further notice. Any water to be used for drinking or cooking should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. Water is OK for bathing, washing, and other common uses.

Snow update

The snow is expected to be heavy at times, stopping at around 10 p.m. Friday.

Temperatures are expected to drop rapidly, and untreated roads will become icy.

Motorists are reminded to keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in their vehicles in the event of an emergency.

The high temperature on Friday is forecasted at 30 degrees and the low is 14 degrees.

Saturday morning is expected to be partly sunny with blustery winds at 15 to 20 mph.
