PLEASANTON, CA — Power was restored to 1,831 customers in Pleasanton as of 5:11 p.m. Tuesday, according to PG&E. The outage began at 1:47 p.m., and affected the area along Foothill Road south of Stoneridge Drive. The outage was still affecting 1,831 customers at 3:30, but was completely gone by 5.

There is no word yet on the cause of the outage, which was initially predicted to be restored by 8:45 p.m. For a while, it was the only major outage in the Bay Area, an outage affecting 5502 customers hit Newark. That outage is still ongoing as of 5:13 p.m.

Temperatures hovered around 90 degrees in Pleasanton Tuesday. In the case of future outages, the Pleasanton Library and Senior Center are available as local cooling centers. The Pleasanton Library is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. The senior center is open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and closed weekends. Here is a list of cooling centers in the region.
