The owners opened its next-door neighbor Franklin Cellars in June 2020. Owners Elliot Bey, Alphonse Janvier Jr. and Michael Gittens took over a liquor store owned by the same man for over 25 years, according to BK Reader. They won over the local community with conversation, organic wines, selections from Black-owned companies, affordable prices and tastings, BK Reader reported.

“We plan to be a business that gives value to the neighborhood,” Bed-Stuy native Gittens told BK Reader in 2021.
