“There’s no money involved; it’s just another way we honor his memory, as he was a coach for his softball team for 11 years and loved it,” Renée Greene Murphy, his sister, told Patch. “His team gets together along with family and friends and shares stories of him. Robert had hundreds of people at his wake. He was loved by many.”
Robert’s niece, Avery Greene Murphy, will sing the national anthem at 12:45 p.m. The softball game will begin at 1 p.m. Food and refreshments will be served.

Greene Murphy wrote a children’s book in memory of her brother last year. She had began the process of writing “Your Heart’s Voice” in 2018, but life took over and she shelved her project. Greene Murphy resumed “Your Heart’s Voice” six months after Robert’s death. She dedicated her book to him, adding him as a main character to the story.
She will have copies of her book at the game for people to buy and or read. People can check out the award-winning “Your Heart’s Voice” here.
