Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Presnel Kimpembe is due to make his return this week from a hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for the last six weeks, according to L’Équipe.
The French international had picked up the injury in the home win over Brest at the start of September, and had flown out to Qatar afterwards to undergo his recovery before then coming back to Paris.
Kimpembe has now resumed individual drills, and could be in line for a return to Christophe Galtier’s squad for next week’s Champions League fixture against Maccabi Haifa. Although the club want to avoid rushing him back – he has yet to begin high-intensity training sessions – all the signs are said to be positive as things stand.
With Danilo Pereira out for the next three weeks – at least – with an injury of his own, the French international’s return is welcome news for Galtier, as well as Didier Deschamps with the World Cup squad announcement just around the corner.
