BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont traffic along I-10 was stalled Tuesday morning following an injury collision between a semi-truck and a sedan near Cherry Valley Boulevard.
California Highway Patrol issued the SIG Alert at 8 a.m. for both the #1 and #2 lanes to both eastbound and westbound traffic:
Eastbound I-10, just west of County Line Road and Westbound I-10 just east of Cherry Valley Boulevard.

According to CHP reports, the semi-truck was leaking diesel fuel as a result of the crash. The multiple-lane I-10 closure was extended through 1 p.m. while investigators worked the crash scene, where debris and vehicles crossed the K-rail divider of the busy freeway.
Shortly before 7:45 a.m., witnesses reported to CHP that a crash occurred between a dark-colored sedan and a big rig just east of the county line in Calimesa.

Calimesa Fire Department firefighters were called to the scene of the collision to attend to the injured parties.
Witnesses reported that the sedan suffered “significant damage” related to the crash, and photos from the scene showed the big rig had slammed through the K-rail to the opposite side of the freeway.
The precise cause of the crash and the extent of the injuries to the crash victims were not immediately released.
