SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – During the Board of Education meeting on Jan. 18, members adopted the new 2024-25 school year calendar which has quite a few changes.
Superbowl fans can rejoice as the district will have a delayed opening on the Monday after the big game.
“The delayed opening is because our teachers do a nighttime conference and we give them time back for that every year,” Feder explained.

Another highlight is that when the district will have a full two-week winter recess during the new school year, Superintendent Scott Feder said.
“The downside of the calendar is that it ends very late in June. And that is because all of the holidays this year fall on school days,” Feder said.

This school year ends a week earlier than the next as most holidays fell on weekends. The high schol graduation date for 2025 is June 17.

Another highlight of this year’s calendar is that the school district will be closed on Halloween as the Hindu festival Diwali falls on the same date – Oct. 31.
