According to Fabrizio Romano, Nantes’ Brazilian fullback Fábio (32) is set to leave Nantes and join Brazilian club Gremio on a permanent 2-year deal. The former Manchester United & QPR man has travelled to his homeland already for medical tests, and is set to link-up with former Barcelona and Liverpool striker Luis Suárez at the Brazilian club.
After a decade-long spell in England, where the Brazilian made 22 appearances for Manchester United, Fábio joined Nantes in 2018 on a three-year contract. The former Cardiff and Middlesbrough defender then made 82 appearances for Les Canaris, notably winning last season’s Coupe de France – a title to add to the two Premier League medals, English League cup, and Charity shield with Manchester United.
This season the 32-year-old has only made six appearances, as manager Antoine Kombouaré confirmed that the defender would be leaving the club, opening the door to a winter departure back home for the Brazilian.
