Bakery took instruction more literally than was supposed to

A Twitter user named Javaid Shami on 7 March shared a hilarious image of a cake he ordered online from a cake shop. As he wanted change, he had placed the order and asked the seller to “Bring Change of 2000.” However, the cake shop, instead of sending the change, got the instruction literally written on his cake.

In the caption, he explained that he asked the seller in Urdu to bring the change of ₹ 2000, and the cake maker thought this is the text he wanted to be written on the cake. “Having ordered a cake from Layer’s I requested they send change for 2000/- (conversation was in Urdu). This is what was delivered!” read the caption. Have a look:

The user said that he had ordered his cake from Layers. Layers is renowned for decadent and premium crafted confections in Pakistan. While this mistake was harmless and would have made no difference to the cake’s taste, the issue has led to a good laugh on social media.

Netizens are amused

The tweet became viral on social media and got over 2,50,000 views, around 4,000 likes and 500 retweets. Many users commented on his post, while others shared their experiences.

In a similar case in May 2022, a Nagpur man gave very specific instructions for a cake he was ordering, and perhaps the cake shop employee took them more literally than he was supposed to. The man shared how he instructed the cake shop to inform him if the cake contained egg while placing an order on Swiggy. Instead, he got a cake with “Contains egg” written on it. The hilarious mishap had gone viral on Twitter.

The hilarious post was liked over 1,80,000 times and retweeted about 20,000 times.
